Recently, he faced the unranked but exceptionally hyped opponent Abusupiyan Magomedov. Strickland finished his opponent within 2 rounds and made a strong statement with his dominant victory. What is his next step? Well, he wants a shot at the gold!

Fans react as Sean Strickland demands a middleweight title shot

Just after his victory, Strickland was very vocal about the fact that he wanted a title shot. He demanded it in his post-fight interview and took a jibe at Israel Adesanya by calling him a “Chinese champion”. It was a playful shot at Adesanya’s kickboxing days in China.

When asked about his plans for a title shot in the post-fight interview, Tarzan had a clear message. “It needs to happen. We know Izzy is on repeat. Give me the f*cking title, I earned it. I paid my dues, give me that sh*t.” However, fans were not very sure of this demand. Here are some of the fan reactions –

  • “Get a win in the top 5 first then it’ll be more earned but you beat 2 unranked guys”
  • “Love Sean the way he fights and his personality but he’s not on Izzy or Robs level, that’s not hating it’s just true.”
