On Friday, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ among other podcasts on Spotify vanished from the platform as fans were unable to play them for a brief amount of time.

Many suspected that this was a power move by the music-sharing platform in a bid to remove longtime UFC commentator Joe Rogan from the platform. Fans reacted hysterically to the news and shared their opinions on Twitter.

“Joe Rogan’s podcast is not available in the Spotify app at the moment. 👀” a user reported.

“*SPOTIFY SAYS JOE ROGAN PODCAST NOT APPEARING IS A TECH GLITCH,” a fan wrote sarcastically.

“HOLY SHIT. JUST TRIED. CAN’T GET TO IT ON MOBILE OR LAPTOP. CAN’T PLAY DOWNLOADED EPISODES EITHER,” a listener panicked.

“You can’t access Joe Rogan’s Podcast on spotify right now. Most popular show on the planet 11m average listeners per episode. The establishment is terrified,” a Twitter user opined.

“It looks like The Joe Rogan Experience is no longer available on Spotify…” a fan mentioned.

The Joe Rogan Experience, among other podcasts which were inaccessible, returned to the platform in a short amount of time. LA Times reported that this weird ‘technical glitch’ appeared because of a power outage. However, the repercussions were high for Spotify, as it saw a dip in its share value a day later.

“Spotify Technology’s (SPOT.N) shares fell 5% on Friday after Joe Rogan’s podcast was briefly not accessible on the company’s streaming platform.” reported Reuters.

Although the podcast is accessible now, Spotify surely had to suffer for what they claim as a ‘technical glitch’ that stemmed out of a ‘power outage’. Prior to this incident, the Spotify top brass commented that they were not going to cancel Rogan out of discontent as he has editorial freedom.
