Jon Jones has undeniably conquered the UFC heavyweight division with his phenomenal first-round win against Ciryl Gane. Furthermore, the world of mixed martial arts has raised the champion high with his return to the Octagon. While the former light heavyweight champion basked in glory with the heavyweight title to his name, many other fighters have begun dreaming of fighting ‘Bones’.
The British mixed martial artist, Tom Aspinall, has recently revealed his desire to fight Jones, in Ariel Helwani’s ‘The MMA Hour’. He told that although he was a big fan of Georges St-Pierre, he also dreamed of fighting the heavyweight champion. Nevertheless, the English fighter is not the only one who disclosed his desire to go head-to-head against the current heavyweight champion.

Tom Aspinall wants to fight Jon Jones
In a recent appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’, the famed MMA reporter pointed out that Aspinall believed GSP was the greatest. However, the Englishman’s tweets revealed that he was head over heels for Jones, as well. However, when asked to streamline his thoughts, Aspinall fumbled.
The Atherton’s finest said, “But, big fan of GSP, as you know. GSP for me will always be the G.O.A.T., but I think at this stage, now with Jon Jones, it’s difficult to make an argument against it, bro.” However, he seemingly assumed that he would not fight Jones. Without a doubt, Helwani tried to convince ‘Two Beers’. Helwani claimed that Jones was still in his mid-thirties. However, he didn’t fail to disclose that the fighter was rejuvenated and reinvigorated.
Finally, Aspinall said, “That is like my dream fight, honestly, to fight Jon Jones. And that’s, that’s a serious motivation for me since he became champ and it was only a week or two ago. But seriously, I’ve got like, the goal. The GOAT is the champ in my division.” Nevertheless, a fight between Aspinall in the heavyweight category against Jones could be something that the public would like to watch.
However, it is the Francis Ngannou versus Jones fight that people missed. This also created a lot of controversy with both the athletes going back and forth.
Francis Ngannou would fight ‘Bones’ twice a month
After ‘Bones’ secured a win at his debut heavyweight bout against Gane, he claimed that Francis Ngannou had a chance, but he didn’t want to gamble. Undoubtedly, the comment made by Jones seemingly showed Ngannou as the one who ran away from the fight.
