Recently, White addressed the question about fighter pay and the criticisms that come his way. His answer to the question sums up why he is as successful as he is today. It also showed the hard bargain he drove when negotiating with fighters.

In a recent interview, White faced a question about fighter pay and the numbers that are thrown around to paint the UFC in a bad light. A nonchalant White had the answer ready for that question.

He said, “I’ve been in business for 23 years. How many guys have left? I just did an 8-fight deal with Jon Jones, who was sitting out over money issues. I just did a new 8-fight deal with ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley. And the list goes on and on.”

He made a ruthless statement afterward, saying, “The guys that leave are the guys that we’re ok with them leaving. The guys who leave are the guys who we’re ok with it.”

The UFC has seen two high-profile exits in recent times. One of them was the iconic Nate Diaz. The other was former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The Cameroonian’s exit made a lot of noise as he was advocating for better fighter pay and rights in his negotiations with the company.
