Adesanya shared a side-by-side picture of himself and Jet Li from the movie “Unleashed.” In the movie, Li’s character, Danny, is a slave who wears a metal collar that serves as a control mechanism. Once the collar is removed, Danny transforms into an unbeatable fighter. Adesanya wrote in the tweet – “IYKYK. He got that Dawg in him!!”.

Adesanya‘s tweet hinted that he was comparing himself to Danny, implying that he would be unleashing his full potential in the upcoming fight. This comparison could also be interpreted as a subtle message to Pereira, suggesting that he would be unleashing his full fighting potential against him.

Israel Adesanya is facing Alex Pereira for the fourth time. The first two fights happened in the kickboxing ring. Pereira came out victorious in both fights, once by decision (2016) and once by knockout (2017). Then, in 2022, Pereira managed his way into the UFC and landed a title shot against Adesanya.

Pereira won the third fight by TKO, making him the first fighter to defeat Adesanya in MMA at middleweight. Now, the two face each other for the fourth, and probably the final time in the octagon. Both Adesanya and Pereira have mentioned that this is the last time they meet each other in a fight.
