Most of us know Joe Rogan as the host of the #1 podcast in the world, “The Joe Rogan Experience.” The American is also a well-known comedian and a UFC color commentator. Although we know plenty about the multi-talented star, there are some things that the fans might have missed. For example, when Rogan revealed he had the same disease as pop legend Michael Jackson, known as vitiligo.

JRE #1424 featured Rogan alongside fellow comedian Tom Papa, in which the two discussed a cluster of topics. In one segment, Papa asked Rogan details about his all-carnivore diet. Rogan explained that he ate an all carnivore diet for an entire month, which consisted of eggs, fish, and meat.

Rogan mentioned that he ate two meals a day – one meal after working out and then dinner at night. When asked why he decided to switch his diet, Rogan explained that he knew people suffering from autoimmune diseases who had significant results with this diet.

The UFC color commentator then spoke about his disease. He said, “I have vitiligo which is an autoimmune disease. It causes you to have these patches where you don’t have pigment. And this month, I have the best results I [have] ever had with vitiligo.”

“It comes and goes depending upon how well I’m taking care of myself, my treatments, and stuff like that. But this month, I’ve got all these spots fill in like a pretty rapid rate.”

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease in which the skin loses its pigment cells, leading to discolored patches in different parts of the body. This condition can also lead to sensitivity to sunlight. Pop star Michael Jackson also publicly claimed to have this disease after some fans ridiculed him for his surgeries and “turning white.”

Jackson first revealed this in an interview with Oprah back in 1993. In the interview, Jackson also mentioned covering the spots with makeup. There was also a rumor floating around at the time that Jackson wore a single glove as a way to cover this disease.
