The American welterweight Perry has only won one UFC fight since 2020. He is currently on a two-fight skid. Unfortunately, the 30-year-old has parted ways with the promotion. However, Perry is an active social media user and frequently shares a glimpse of his personal life with fans.

Recently, Perry shared a bizarre experience from his weight cut routine on his official Twitter account. He wrote, “2 Big tricks life plays on you. 1. You wanna lose weight, you have to eat more. At least 3x more a day. And 2. The more water you drink the more dehydrated you’ll be. Isn’t that crazy? Life’s a trip. Obviously, the details make the difference.”

However, after receiving mixed reactions in the comments section, Perry put out a video explaining his previous Tweet. In the video, the 30-year-old said, “This is the water that I drank its two and half gallons. So I have getting very dehydrated because I am peeing out and sweating out when I workout all of my salt and my sugar.”

“So My body is dehydrating because I am hydrating so much. Also, food wise to order for my body to lose weight, I have to keep my metabolism running. So, in order to do that, your body needs food.”

“It’s like gasoline is fuel. Sleeping on an empty stomach and your body’s not gonna lose weight. But if you have food in your stomach, then your body will work and it will burn calories just for your knowledge.”

Mike Perry Moves to the BKFC

Mike Perry has competed in fifteen UFC fights since his debut in 2016. He has a professional fighting record of 14-8 under his name. However, he couldn’t find much success in the UFC.

Following his last bout against Daniel Rodriguez in 2021, which he lost, Perry officially announced his move from UFC to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

‘Platinum’ has won over many big names in the welterweight division of UFC, like Jake Ellenberger, Paul Felder, and Alex Oliveira. He competed against the likes of Donald Cerrone and Vicente Luque in the promotion.

However, now the UFC fans will see Perry in a different form of mixed martial arts. Interestingly, the 30-year-old is not the only UFC fighter who has turned his attention towards BKFC.

Where many retired UFC fighters test their skills in the boxing ring nowadays, very few of them walk a different path and choose bare-knuckle fighting. Chad Mendes, Artem Lobov, Paige VanZant, Ricco Rodriguez, Chase Sherman, and Jason Knight are some of the notable names that turned towards BKFC after departing from UFC.
