Conor McGregor is definitely one of the most reputed names in the world of combat sports. Apart from being a star of the UFC, McGregor also challenged the boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather, for his boxing ring debut. However, now, ‘The Notorious’ has expressed his desire for another boxing bout with the retired English boxing legend, Ricky Hatton.

Previously, rumors had flown that a second ‘Mystic Mac’ vs ‘Money’ Mayweather fight also might be set up after McGregor’s defeat at their first one. But, most probably it is going to be Hatton replacing Mayweather in the ring this time.

But the idea of the McGregor vs Hatton fight did not impress the majority of fans. A lot of them also went on to deride McGregor, comparing him to the YouTuber and boxer, Jake Paul.

Ricky Hatton’s agent set up his probable fight against Conor McGregor

Hatton’s agent, Paul, took to Twitter and highlighted a post that talked about the return of Hatton. He also captioned his post, “@TheNotoriousMMA v @Hitman Hatton? Be careful of what you wish for”.

McGregor apparently loved the idea as he replied to Paul’s tweet. He wrote, “Wouldn’t that be something”

This entire incident was mentioned in an article by ‘Mirror’ which in turn was highlighted by their combat sports covering Facebook page, ‘Mirror Fighting’.

They captioned their post, McGregor has teased a boxing return again”.

But the idea of McGregor making a boxing return against a retired legend like Hatton is what probably disgusted the fans.

Fans derided McGregor, saying Jake Paul inspired him

The YouTuber boxer Jake Paul has been criticized by a lot of fans due to his knack for calling out retired MMA fighters and scoring knockouts over them. A lot of fans mocked ‘Mystic Mac’ and commented that McGregor was drawing his inspiration from Jake Paul.

One follower wrote, “McGregor must be feeling inspired….Jake Paul’s a pioneer. Blazing a trail through one washed-up, retired, beat-down, retired fighter at a time”. He also received a few replies to his comment. One of them stated, “actually tyson vs jake”, while another follower replied to this as well saying, ” yessssss Jake Paul would get his head knocked off in the first round from a nasty left that Tyson still has”

Another one wrote, “the new Jake Paul emerges…and his name is Connor”.

A lot of others also fired at McGregor commenting, “Lmao so he’s going to pull a Jake Paul and fight someone in a retirement, dude hasn’t fought since what 2012 or 2013. Maybe a huge thing in Britain but don’t think I’d pay to watch that”. One more user wrote, “The new Jake Paul haha”.

It was apparent that a lot of fans didn’t want McGregor to be like Jake Paul, but were distressed to see him follow in Paul’s footsteps.
