Kevin Holland is not only utilizing his martial arts skills inside the octagon, but also in the real life. ‘Trailblazer’ stopped a shooting incident at a restaurant in Houston. Holland and his friend/uncle, Patrick Robinson, with the help of a customer, controlled the shooter.

Afterward, Holland reacted to the incident and was in high spirits. ‘Trailblazer’ also mocked the shooter as he used the famous Derrick Lewis quote; ‘He’s okay.’

In addition, he spoke to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi and gave details of the incident.

“I was facing one way, and then we heard a big, loud bang.”

Initially, Holland thought of it as a champagne bottle pop. However, after realizing it was a gunshot, Holland found the shooter, grabbed him, and put him in a Rear Naked Choke to put him to sleep.

Apart from this incident, a few months back, Holland had stopped a suspected car thief. Thus, same as his attitude with the UFC bouts, he is stepping up whenever necessary.

Apart from fighting crime, Holland has achieved success in his recent UFC outing. In a welterweight bout at UFC 272, ‘Trailblazer’ got a second-round finish against Alex Oliveira.

Holland is looking to make a run at welterweight after struggling against the top contenders in the middleweight division.

With the first win on the board, ‘Trailblazer’ will look to work his way to the top of the welterweight rankings. A bout with Li Jingliang (#13), would make a lot of sense for Holland to get into the top 15 of UFC’s welterweight division.
