

Brandon Moreno became the UFC flyweight champion after defeating Deiveson Figueiredo at the UFC 263 event. Ever since that victory, people have been speculating as to what next for the fighter. There have been many fighters who have shown an interest in fighting Moreno and vice versa. One such fighter is former UFC champion Cody Garbrandt.
Recently, news had broken out that Garbrandt would be moving down to the flyweight division. Given the imminent move of a former champion to a new weight class, there were bound to be questions about the same. Ahead of this potential move from ‘No Love’, Moreno talked about Cody Garbrandt and his style.

He said, “I mean talking about the technical part. I think the style of him, he loves to throw punches. For example, last fight he tried to take Rob Font down, but I think it doesn’t work too much in that fight. But his style, I mean the fight against Dominick Cruz, the fight against Thomas Almeida, his boxing skills are amazing.”

“So obviously he’s not in the best part of his career, that’s true. But he’s a former champ, he has the brand behind him and you know the technique is there you never know when he can come with a high level again. I am excited to watch what we can see inside of the Octagon.”
What next for Brandon Moreno?
As ‘The Assassin Baby’ is a UFC champion, there are many fighters who want to test themselves against him. However, the most likely next fight for Moreno will be against Deiveson Figueiredo.

Figueiredo and Moreno have faced each other two times, with one fight ending in a draw and Moreno winning the second fight. Therefore, the third fight with Figueiredo makes complete sense for Moreno. However, there are also fighters like Askar Askarov and Cody Garbrandt who might be chosen as Moreno’s next opponent.
