The doping agency joined hands with the UFC back in 2015, assuming the role of overseeing all drug tests for fighters competing under the UFC banner. However, their relationship turned sour and took an unexpected turn on October 12th. When USADA CEO Travis Tygart addressed the public in a released statement.

Tygart confirmed that Conor McGregor re-entered the USADA testing regimen on October 8th. It marked a significant step in his comeback journey. Nevertheless, a cloud of uncertainty lingered over whether Dana White would mandate the full 6-month testing period or insist on McGregor obtaining two consecutive negative tests before granting him clearance for a return to the Octagon. This statement indicated that USADA would not be associating itself with the UFC, and USADA administrators later confirmed it.
