‘Rowdy’ was the first-ever women’s UFC champion and also had a dominant reign from 2013 to 2015. The list of her achievements in the sport is very long. Many regard her as the greatest women’s MMA fighter and also called her the pioneer of mixed martial arts. One of them was the UFC color commentator, Rogan.
Joe Rogan has been with the sport long enough to see some of the greatest fighters in the promotion. He was among the ones who hyped ‘Rowdy’ during her time in the UFC.
In July 2018, Rousey became the first woman to be called UFC Hall of Famer. And in her Hall of Fame trailer released by the UFC, Rogan said, “When you talk about Pioneers. There is no one who is a bigger pioneer of mixed martial arts than Ronda Rousey.”

However, it wasn’t always glittery for the female MMA champion. ‘Rowdy’ lost her bantamweight title against Holly Holm in her first-ever pro-MMA loss at UFC 193 in 2015.
In the next year, Rousey lost yet another title fight against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. This was her second loss in her pro-MMA career and last fight in the UFC. With back-to-back two losses in her career, Rousey parted ways with the UFC.
Ronda Rousey hints at an MMA return on one condition
After retiring from professional MMA, Ronda Rousey moved to the wrestling world. She made her debut in WWE in 2018. Although she has a quite successful career in WWE, ‘Rowdy’ expressed her interest in returning to MMA only if former fighter Gina Carano wants to fight.

In the ‘The Kurt Angle Show,’ Rousey said, “There’s only one person I would come back for. … For Gina, man. Gina Carano. She’s the reason why I got into fighting. She’s the reason why I knew it was a possibility. I will always be forever grateful…”
“If she wanted to come into my backyard and do like you know, the Rocky thing or you know, ding ding and we just do it in the backyard, I don’t care. I will fight Gina wherever she wants.” Rousey added.
