Reportedly, Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, was a retired Russian military officer. Chiefly, during the interview with a Russian media outlet, ‘The Eagle’ recounts the memories of his father and how he molded him to become what he is today.

“There were traumas, traumas, operations. There was a moment I wanted to retire. He convinced me ‘Half a way you want to leave, to give up. That is not the goal we were going to, it is not about us’.”

Additionally, ‘The Eagle’ also revealed that his father was a strict parent and the decision-maker at his home. “I was listening just his advices. He didn’t let anyone to our Concilium to discuss such moments. No one has such rights. Only father made a decision. Neither mother, nor brother, nor uncle. You can’t do it, even give a hint about it. You had always to do what father says.”

How Khabib Nurmagomedov lost his father?

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, was a top-class coach who trained several champions throughout his career. He even trained Nurmagomedov’s uncle Nurmagomed Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev. Reportedly, the Dagestani-born even accompanied his son to meet President Putin.

Unfortunately, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was hospitalized in the Russian capital of Moscow. ESPN reported his sudden demise in the same month.

Notably, Khabib Nurmagomedov had credited all his success through his career to his father. Even his opponent, Justin Gaethje, sent his condolences.

So heartbreaking to hear this news of the Legend Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. I’m very sorry [Khabib],” Gaethje posted. “[Your] dad passed with a heart full of pride knowing you will carry on his legacy.”
