Joe Rogan has invited a plethora of guests from various walks of life on his million-dollar ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast. However, there were certain guests who sparked a great interest among fans and one such guest was the founder of SpaceX, Elon Musk. The billionaire tycoon went viral on the internet after he was seen smoking marijuana with Joe Rogan during the podcast.

Joe Rogan claims to be a very lucky man for having so many guests come to his podcast. It has enabled him to learn various perspectives other than his own. Rogan recently opened up about having Elon Musk on his show on the #1985 episode of his podcast.

The 55-year-old podcast host looked back at the time when Elon Musk came to his podcast. He could not stop laughing when he mentioned smoking marijuana with him while the podcast was live. Rogan said, “I got him to smoke weed cos we were drinking.” He added, “We were having a cup of whisky. I wanted to loosen him up because he’s very intense.”

He then talks about the moment when they started drinking and Rogan happened to light up a joint which led a to big issue. He said, “So we’re drinking a little bit, loosen him up. Then I sparked up a joint, and it became a giant issue because he took a hit.”

As a result of Elon Musk smoking on the JRE podcast, the SpaceX founder found himself in a financial problem with regard to his automobile company, Tesla. “The stock price of Tesla dropped [by] six percent. It went back up,” said Joe Rogan. He added, “It went past where it was the next day. But you know, people panic on those things.”

Elon Musk had a problem getting top-secret clearance as a result of smoking marijuana

Joe Rogan mentions how Elon Musk got into a lot of trouble with regard to his work after smoking marijuana for the world to see. Even though the US has some states which have legalized the recreational and medical use of cannabis, it did not achieve the federal status of being a legal substance. It led to Elon Musk being prohibited from attaining top-secret clearance from the government. Rogan said, “There was also an issue with the top-secret clearance. Even though it was legal in California, where we were, it is not legal federally.”

The 55-year-old then mentions about Musk’s involvement in smoking an illegal substance caught him off guard and he faced a lot of heat from the people in SpaceX and NASA. Rogan added, “So he was involved in this thing that was illegal and he’s also involved in NASA. He’s also involved in top-secret rocket programs. He got SpaceX. and they were like, ‘Hey motherf***er, what’re you doing over there?”

Elon Musk talked about the aftermath of his JRE stunt and how it affected him in an interview last year. He doesn’t condone the use of marijuana as he feels it doesn’t add to a person’s productivity. It was clear that the tech billionaire has no interest in pursuing any form of drugs.
