Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman clash for the 2nd time this weekend as the BMF champion challenges for the welterweight gold. Usman got the better of his opponent last time around at UFC 251 as ‘Gamebred’ stepped up on 6 days’ notice.

This time he will have a full training camp under his belt. Another significant difference will be the presence of the fans in the building at the pay-per-view in Jacksonville, Florida.

Masvidal explained why he is excited to have the fans back in the building. “I mean, you hear yourself, you see yourself. These guys want violence.

“And let me tell you that they don’t cheer for me because I’m so good looking or the food that I eat, none of that,” said Masvidal.

And that’s not why they cheer for me. They cheer for me because I give everybody their hard-earned money. I come in here to perform and bring the violence that they crave. And that’s the only reason why I got all these fans behind me,” he further added.

Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal embroiled in a war of words

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ took a shot at ‘Gamebred’ saying, “But the fans can’t fight for you.”

I’m gonna whoop your a** all by myself. I don’t need nobody. I don’t need no but I whoop you’re a** by myself,” Masvidal responded.

You said that last time. What happened,” Usman added as the war of words intensified. “You know what happened. You rubbed feet with me,” Masvidal proceeded to respond.

Both Masvidal and Usman are determined to build on their performances at UFC 251

Usman believes he didn’t bring all his skills to the fore last time around. However, this time around, he is looking to break Masvidal’s will and spirit and earn the finish.

As for the Miami native, he is determined to alter the outcome and baptize ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ and become an undisputed UFC Champion.

It will be interesting to see how the fight shapes up this time around. If Masvidal can bring violence for the fans and neutralize Usman’s suffocating pressure, he may just walk away the victor.
