UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal reacted to the news. He shared an article that discussed Khamzat Chimaev being under investigation. He wrote, “And the #KhamzatChimaev story just keeps getting crazier!”

Masvidal shared a similar story about veteran Nate Diaz. ‘Gamebred’ wrote, “They are coming after #NateDiaz”.
As per several reports, ‘Nevada Athletic Commission’ will investigate the UFC 279 conference altercation that happened between fighters backstage. Reportedly, Khamzat Chimaev, Nate Diaz, Kevin Holland, and their teams were a part of the altercation.

Hence, disciplinary action might be taken based on what the investigation finds. While trash-talking and fighting inside the Octagon is what fighters do, officials were unhappy that it happened outside it.

As per a statement released by NAC, “The Nevada Athletic Commission will strictly discipline all licensees for all incidents of physical violence between athletes outside the ring or cage…“.
