UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal reacted to the news. He shared an article that discussed Khamzat Chimaev being under investigation. He wrote, “And the #KhamzatChimaev story just keeps getting crazier!”

Masvidal shared a similar story about veteran Nate Diaz. ‘Gamebred’ wrote, “They are coming after #NateDiaz”.

As per several reports, ‘Nevada Athletic Commission’ will investigate the UFC 279 conference altercation that happened between fighters backstage. Reportedly, Khamzat Chimaev, Nate Diaz, Kevin Holland, and their teams were a part of the altercation.

Hence, disciplinary action might be taken based on what the investigation finds. While trash-talking and fighting inside the Octagon is what fighters do, officials were unhappy that it happened outside it.

As per a statement released by NAC, “The Nevada Athletic Commission will strictly discipline all licensees for all incidents of physical violence between athletes outside the ring or cage…“.

Thus, fans are on their toes to know what will happen next. The UFC 279 last-minute matchups left many wondering whether it was planned by the promotion itself. This included former UFC fighter, Brendan Schaub. However, Dana White found the assumption absurd and discredited it.
