UFC commentator Joe Rogan has one of the most storied careers in the MMA sphere. Although not a fighter, the 56-year-old is one of the most popular faces people associate with the sport. Building his career from being a stand-up comic to being a host on Fear Factor, Rogan is currently a color commentator for the UFC and the world’s leading podcast host. He is also an ardent martial artist who lives a disciplined life in and out of the spotlight. These are the same qualities he looks to instill in his daughters.

Rogan believes in focus and discipline and that is evident from the way he walks and the way he talks. He is vocal about the need to stay fit mentally and physically. At 56 years of age, Rogan has really stayed in shape and advocates for mental health. On a recent episode of his podcast, Rogan spoke extensively about this with UFC champ Sean O’Malley and his coach.

Joe Rogan and his wife Jessica Ditzel have three beautiful daughters. Rogan, although a man of discipline and focus, has never tried to force anything upon his daughters. In episode #147, Sean O’Malley and his coach Tim Welch were invited to The Joe Rogan Experience where Welch asked Rogan about how he monitors and regulates screen time for his kids – he specifically asked about them being on TikTok.

Yeah, I monitor them. They – they can’t have their phones at night.“, replied Rogan, cutting straight to the point. However, he soon cleared up that he never forced them to do anything. “But, I don’t stop them from doing anything. I don’t stop them from eating junk food. I don’t stop them from playing on their computers. I don’t stop them from playing with their phone.

That being said, Rogan also doesn’t believe in not disciplining them and teaching them the importance of it. “But I do emphasize the value of discipline and – they obviously see that I work hard and my wife works hard. And we just talk to them about stuff,” he added. He then proceeded to make a valid point in favor of kids being on social media these days. “I think if you deny kids social media, one of the things you’re gonna do is you’re gonna, kinda, socially alienate them, because all their friends are on social media.

Joe Rogan’s mantra for success – Discipline over motivation!

Joe Rogan is a very successful man today. However, the level of success that he can boast of today, didn’t come to him easy. The UFC commentator has been practicing alcohol ‘abstinence’ for a while now. He enjoys a glass of wine occasionally, but they are as rare as can be. On several occasions, the UFC commentator has emphasized the importance of this type of discipline.

In a podcast episode, where Lex Fridman was the guest, Rogan and Fridman were seen talking about having discipline and how it changes your life for the better. In fact, Joe Rogan said that, according to him, motivation alone cannot get the job done. He believes that without discipline, people cannot achieve the unthinkable. He used the example of setting up a podcast and said that it takes dedication, time, and discipline to set up a successful podcast.
