Glover Teixeira is one of the most loved and admired fighters at the UFC. The 42-year-old earned everyone’s respect when he won the UFC light heavyweight championship from a much younger opponent and became the oldest first-time champion in the UFC’s history. Meanwhile, the veteran recently joined the UFC Unfiltered podcast in a much-needed off-topic conversation.

Speaking to former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and podcast host Jim Norton, Teixeira touched on many trivial subjects. However, the podcast hosts were curious to know what TV shows the champ watches in his free time.

To this, the Brazilian-American replied, “No, I never got into it. I watch some… Family Guy, so these guys always make fun of all, Star Wars. But like, yeah, some people love it.”

Surprised to hear his answer, Serra asked him what he likes better, The Simpsons or Family Guy? Here, Teixeira drifted into nostalgia and picked his favorite. “The Simpsons? No, I do like Family Guy better, yeah. I like them both though I like them both, but Family Guy just I started watching when I used to live in Chuck’s [Chuck Liddell] house.”

“Chuck and all those guys, that was 2006. That was the start and you know you start liking the characters. You know, like Stewie is funny as hell, man. It was hard for me to get at the beginning. They have some hard like comedy man; they go hard at it; they don’t hold back.”

What’s ahead for Glover Teixeira?

Glover Teixeira ascended to the 205-pound throne after a thrilling second-round submission of former champ Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267, last year. Since then, there have been speculations about Teixeira’s maiden title defense.

However, the name that clearly comes on top is Czech mixed martial artist Jiri Prochazka.  The champion even said so following his win on Fight Island at UFC 267.

With this understanding, it is pretty clear Jiri Prochazka will be the first challenger for Teixeira’s strap. Currently, the Czech is coming off a victory over Dominick Reyes. ‘Denisa’ defeated Reyes with an insane spinning back elbow in the second round of their bout, which many fight fans tout as the knockout of the year.
