When a reporter from the event’s press pool praised Pimblett for his speech on mental health last year, the MMA star reciprocated with a short-yet-simple answer to explain his stance. What’s more – ‘The Baddy’ also spoke about how public opinion has turned against him for his brutally honest confessions about some dark moments of his life.

In the recent Q&A event for UFC London – fans, and journalists took their golden chance to ask intriguing questions to the Lightweight contender. While a fan made headlines thanks to his bizarre NSFW question to Paddy, there was another highlight in ‘Baddy’s speech. 

When one reporter asked for Pimblett’s take on men’s mental health issues, the Brit shared quite a resonating sentiment among men. Advocating about men’s mental struggles, Paddy remarked, “…to be honest – so yeah, it’s – man needs to talk more and they just don’t.”

What’s more – he also revealed that his previous speech at UFC London in 2022, which was also on men’s mental health, received mixed reactions from the public. The Brit also highlighted the disturbing nature of some public reactions. Paddy added, “And it’s mad obviously because it got – it got looked at as a busting, what I did and stuff like that.”

The 28-year-old’s experiences have made him even more determined to advocate for mental health awareness, stressing that the world needs to address this issue seriously.

However, despite facing backlash, Pimblett remains steadfast in his belief that men must be encouraged to talk openly about their mental struggles. In the same vein, the 28-year-old concluded his take, saying, “I have people commenting on my stuff now that I should kill myself. So, you know – the world needs to show us itself out on it…”
