Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou incited a furious reaction from the fans after revealing that the UFC commission almost didn’t allow him to wear knee braces at UFC 270.
‘The Predator’ took to his official Instagram account and shared a pre-fight video. In the video, we can see the Cameroonian fighter being questioned about the knee brace inside the changing room.

In the clip, Referee Herb Dean said to Ngannou that the commission wouldn’t allow his knee brace. However, later, they let him wear it, and ‘The Predator’ is seen leaving for his walk-out.

“They almost didn’t let me wear the knee brace at #ufc270 even though my knee was completely messed up,” Ngannou wrote in the caption.

After watching the video, fans shared their thoughts on the incident and some even bashed the promotion for the same.

‘The Predator’ successfully defended his title with a unanimous decision victory over Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. Apparently, this was the last fight on his UFC contract and it will expire this December.

The 35-year-old is adamant about renewing his contract with the promotion. But only if he gets a pay raise and permission to compete in boxing on his contract. However, UFC President Dana White is uncertain about the latter condition.
