DC favors Conor McGregor

During his special segment, ‘3 Rounds w/ Daniel Cormier’, DC took a stand on the Conor McGregorArtem Lobov‘s Proper Twelve dispute. “Lobov’s UFC career was helped because of the relationship he had with McGregor. It’s not like he was having a ton of success inside the Octagon,” said Cormier. He also mentioned how the Irishman’s friendship benefited Lobov with his UFC career.

DC further addressed Conor McGregor, challenging Artem Lobov to a fight. He believes that the fight was never going to take place. “They weren’t gonna fight. It was never an option to actually fight.” He further added that this is, in fact, McGregor’s natural reaction to call outs. “But the reality is, as we’ve seen, this is the reaction that Conor McGregor usually gets whenever somebody comes at him.”

Cormier then brought up the Anthony Smith incident, saying he could see why McGregor would respond strongly to such events by lashing out. “Conor lashes out when he feels like someone’s coming at him. Now, I tend to agree with him on this stance, because that’s right.”

McGregor is a brand in himself

Daniel Cormier addressed Artem Lobov‘s claims to have come up with the idea of Proper Twelve. He stated, “When you spend a lot of time with somebody, you talk about a lot of things. You’re constantly like bouncing ideas off of each other.”

DC also believes that Lobov may have talked about the idea in a way. They were together all the time and Lobov must’ve said something about starting a whiskey brand,” said Cormier. However, every ship needs a captain, and according to DC, with Proper Twelve, it was Conor McGregor.

“The reality is this: an idea is only an idea until you have somebody to make it a reality. In Proper 12, as an idea, is a great idea, but it never works without McGregor. It just doesn’t. Because you need the name behind the brand to push it.” stated Cormier, insisting on the fact that the business needed a name like McGregor‘s for it to succeed the way it has now.

Lastly, DC shared a piece of advice before concluding the subject. He said, “Business and friendship don’t mix. Business is where friendships go to die.” and the McGregorLobov situation reflects that pretty well.
