In 2021, UFC fans got to see some of the most mind-numbing moments in the promotion’s history. From Conor McGregor losing his shine against ‘The Diamond’ to the 42-year-old Glover Teixeira being crowned the new 205-pound king; there were some absolute shockers. However, Julianna Pena defeating Amanda Nunes was the biggest shocker.

Although fans have dismissed her win as luck and attributed it to Nunes’ fatigue, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ is having none of it. She sent a message to all her doubters.

In her latest appearance on the Jim Rome show, Pena asserted that her ‘not’ so regular Rear-Naked Choke is potent and has been tested on Sara McMann as well. She issued a challenge to her critics.

“I guarantee you, and Jim, maybe one day you can take me up on this, or any of your listeners. If any of them out there want to come to my house and let me put that choke on them, I guarantee you they’re gonna tap as well and I guarantee you they’ll be able to feel that force and pressure that I was putting on Amanda,” said the women’s bantamweight champ.

Julianna Pena defeated the then double division, Nunes at UFC 269. Her victory came in the second round of their bout as both of the warriors engaged in a back-and-forth barrage of punches. After wearing out ‘The Lioness’ and tiring her, Pena submitted Nunes with her irregular Rear-Naked Choke.

Julianna Pena (11-4) might have been able to snap Amanda Nunes’ win streak. Nonetheless, ‘The Lioness’ is not one to accept defeat and sit idle. Immediately a day after her setback, the Brazilian issued a warning to all her doubters and ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’.
