Masvidal, a veteran of the sport, particularly shared an intriguing take on the testing measures taken by the USADA. Claiming that everyone should be given an even playing field, his statement also drew Rogan’s agreement. Interestingly, the UFC commentator also came up with his own take on the disparities that the anti-doping agency had when it came down to testing fighters from different regions of the world.

Jorge Masvidal and Joe Rogan talk about USADA in the current system

The fighter appeared in the JRE MMA #137 episode. Discussing an ideal system where every athlete would be subject to testing on a similar basis, the BMF star pointed out the difficulties of testing fighters settled outside America. Insinuating that certain fighters got away with far more leniency, he asked for something fairer for everyone involved.

“.. just like make it an even playing field for everybody,” Masvidal stated.

Rogan couldn’t agree more with that statement. Pointing out that it would be near impossible for USADA to travel to remote regions like Russia, he says, Oh yeah, they’re not traveling to the mountains of Dagestan to give people pi** test.”

And it could be assumed that the UFC commentator was pointing out the hordes of athletes coming out from those regions. Most notably, the likes of Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and his team are based out of Dagestan. But importantly, these fighters also train most of the time in America, meaning they are pretty much subject to rigorous testing as well.

Jorge Masvidal reveals the number of times he got tested for his last fight

Demanding a fair system, Masvidal emphasized the number of times that he has been tested over a year.

“If I am getting tested 20 times a year, right? So and so and so and so should also be tested 20 times a year.” He demanded.

But it was his next disclosure regarding his previous camps that would leave even a top athlete wondering how ‘Gamebred’ managed to cope with the number of tests.

“My last camp was same sh*t. It just doesn’t make sense. They came in a Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday between 5:15 and like 6:30 in my fucking home…what about my sleep bro?” he expressed in disgust.

While it definitely appears unreasonable for someone to put up against such a torturous schedule, especially when heading into a fight and during a weight cut, some might believe that it is in the best interests of the sport.

What do you think? Is it even possible for anti-doping agencies to visit remote regions like Dagestan? Does Joe Rogan make a valid argument here? Let us know.
