There’s always a looming debate surrounding UFC fighters’ compensation compared to boxers. Recently, the debate has caught prominence. Several people argue that the fighters on the UFC roster earn significantly less than what boxers make in a single fight. Boxers often earn millions from their fights, however, this is not the case for UFC fighters. The recent exclusions of different fighters from the UFC to other promotions have alerted the UFC about the intensity of the matter.

In a recent turn of events, the fighters over at Misfits Boxing have certainly hit the jackpot with their recent earnings from their fights. This has seemingly piqued the interest of Khamzat Chimaev’s friend, Darren Till. In a recent conversation, Till openly voiced his desire to step into the ring with Misfits, even though he’s closely aligned with Dana White and the UFC.

Darren Till expresses his willingness to fight in Misfits boxing

Darren Till’s journey as a fighter has been a rollercoaster ride. Till has seen his own series of ups and downs. He has faced significant challenges due to a series of losses which in turn has cast a shadow on his career. It’s been almost a year since Till last graced the octagonal arena. His hiatus has put a question mark on his return to UFC.

However, the ‘Gorilla’ in his recent escapade had cleared all the doubts regarding the doubts about his career. Till recently went to witness the Misfits boxing fight between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis and there he met the popular sports YouTuber The Schmo. Schmo inquired Till about his career. He added ” Earlier tonight you were telling the Schmo that you would do Misfits boxing. You would fight Mike Perry. Would you still do Misfits boxing after the stuff you saw out there this evening?”

Darren Till was quick to add that he is not planning to quit fighting as of now and is eyeing to make a comeback. What do you think, mate? The guys are earning absolute millions. Like, God bless Dana White. I absolutely love him. I’ll be back at the UFC one day, even though everyone thinks I won’t,” said Darren Till.

He further quoted that he is also looking to fight in an influencer crossover match. Till added “ But they’re making us millions for what? For that? I just sat there. Everyone’s like, “Till, you should say something.” And I went, “I’ve actually got nothing to say. I’ve got nothing to say.” Like, honestly, I just don’t know what to say. They’re just all crap.”

UFC’s future amidst growing competition and fighter concerns

UFC is facing tough competition from different promotions due to this payment and freedom issues. Fighters have been raising the issue of small purses for years, however, the issue has been highlighted as of now and is taking prominence. According to some fighters, the broken-down profit that they receive from the UFC is much less as compared to fighters in the other promotions. Some of the fighters even accuse the UFC of not giving them sponsorship money.

Due to all of these reasons, various fighters have already left the UFC’s station for other promotions. the most recent names include Derek Brunson and former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Both Ngannou and Brunson have joined PFL.
