The ‘Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov has finally returned to the world of MMA even if it’s for a limited time. The combat Sambo professional will be by Islam Makhachev’s side for a period of two weeks before his rematch against the Brazilian sensation Charles Oliveira. Nurmagomedov left the MMA world at the beginning of this year in order to spend time with his family. However, things seem to have changed for now.

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently announced that he will be training and overseeing Islam Makhachev in the lead-up to his bout with Charles Oliveira. Things seem to be working in favor of Makhachev, as Nurmagomedov’s presence by his side is likely boosting morale and team spirit within the camp.

Khabib Nurmagomedov announced at the beginning of the year that he would be leaving his life as a coach in order to spend his time with his family and this was later confirmed by his team. Nurmagomedov last graced Islam Makhachev’s side in his fight against Charles Oliveira and since then he has been absent from the corner.

‘The Eagle’ has consistently asserted that Makhachev will face a significant challenge when taking on Oliveira after his initial victory, as he now has nothing to lose. This sentiment has even been acknowledged by the current champion. The pressure on Makhachev to replicate and carry on Nurmagomedov’s legacy may have been distracting him from his training. However, with his return to support Islam Makhachev, things are expected to change for both Makhachev and Oliveira.

Islam Makhachev in his most recent escapade shared a post on his Instagram handle that showcased Khabib Nurmagomedov’s training alongside the team. In the video, the Dagestani can be seen doing pushups with the rest of the team. Makhachev captioned it as “The head coach join the training camp, nothing changed just sweating much more.”

Judging by the reactions of the fans it is clear that they are happy and awestruck to witness the ‘eagle’ alongside Islam Makhachev. Fans assert that Nurmagomedov’s inclusion in Makhachev’s training camp will boost his morale and it will now be difficult for Oliveira to win the bout.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s opinion about the rematch

Former Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is expecting a challenging fight for both Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira. He adds that Makhachev will be facing a tougher challenge, a tougher fighter in the form of Charles Oliviera. ‘The Eagle’ is of the notion that ‘Do Bronx’ has reached a point where he has nothing left to lose. While having an interview, the former champion stated,

“There will be more risks for Islam. Oliveria has nothing to lose. He has already lost. I think it won’t be an easy fight for both of them. For Islam, the second fight will be more difficult than the first. This is my purely personal opinion.”
