Fan skepticism and doubts surrounding Paulo Costa’s commitment to the fight

Paulo Costa recently dropped a bombshell when he stated that he would need to undergo surgery just weeks before their bout. This led everyone to believe that Costa might consider pulling out of the match; however, Costa stated that he wouldn’t be withdrawing.

Costa in a recent statement with his interview with renowned journalist Ariel Helwani stated that he would beat Khamzat Chimaev 99 percent. He added “Because, bro, I truly believe in myself 100 times more than him, like 99 percent. I have all the tools to beat this motherf**ker, you know? He’s like a pro wrestler. He has nothing on me. He has a big head, long arms, and a slim body. He will do nothing against me. I will defend his first takedown, and I’m gonna knock him out. So, I want this fight so bad, that’s why I’m still in this fight. I did a surgery, but I don’t care. I’m gonna be there.”
