The names of Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren have become synonymous with each other. The pair faced each other back in 2019 at the UFC 239 event. Masvidal won the fight in just 5 seconds and thus holds the record for the quickest KO in UFC history.

Masvidal came at Askren with a flying knee, which knocked out the former Olympian. That moment has been etched in the memories of UFC fans since. Now, Askren is all set to face You tuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. Before the match, Masvidal shared his views on Askren.

“I never felt that Ben Askren was fully involved in the sport, Like you said, Joe said himself, He’s so good at wrestling that he doesn’t need anything else,” Masvidal said.

Ben Askren is a great wrestler, but we never knew him for his striking prowess, and ‘Gamebred’ pointed that out. “It’s like you’re fighting two guys at once, you’re grappling two guys at once. And Ben carried that his whole career. Like I don’t care he’s a striker, I don’t need to strike him. Ya I know my striking ugly, I’m just going to go in there and wrestle this guy in and dry h*mp him through the rounds.”

What next for Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren?

‘Funky’ is going to face Jake Paul and many fans believe that he is representing MMA in this fight. The UFC ‘BMF’ was talking about whether he will support Askren in the fight.

“I’m not getting behind that guy all of a sudden now. He’s not a striker. He wasn’t born with it, and he didn’t pursue it either. This guy can’t even hold his hands up properly, his core, the way he stands like everything. I can’t stand behind him.”
