Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Andrade are all set to fight at UFC 261. The fighters will compete for the UFC Woman’s Flyweight title currently held by Shevchenko. This fight is being deemed by many as the best fight of the night and Shevchenko’s biggest challenge till now.
Even UFC President Dana White believes this fight will be very interesting and that Andrade might surprise ‘Bullet’ with her raw power and movement.
During a recent interview, White was talking about the upcoming fight. He talked about how it has always been a challenge to set an opponent for Shevchenko, but not anymore.

“Yeah, the problem is every time we would make a fight for Shevchenko everybody would be like, oh god she’s gonna murder this girl.
“Now we have Andrade, Andrade who is now going up the weight class and has that raw power that strength, the way she fights, the way she moves, this is something that we haven’t seen and Shevchenko hasn’t seen from an opponent yet which makes this fight very interesting.”
Andrade is a former UFC Strawweight champion and is one of the hardest hitters in the women’s division. ‘Bate Estaca’ has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since a young age and is a black belt in the same.
Leading up to the fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Andrade
Both the fighters have been in great form, Andrade won her Flyweight debut fight against Katlyn Chookagian via a first-round TKO. On the other hand, Shevchenko hasn’t lost a single fight since she lost a fight since her fight against Amanda Nunes, which she lost via a split decision.

Since losing to Nunes, ‘Bullet’ has won the UFC women’s Flyweight championship and successfully defended it 4 times. She has defeated skilled fighters like Jennifer Maia and Joanna Jedrzejczyk and almost seems undefeatable.
While we often consider Shevchenko as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, Andrade has shown she is no slouch. This fight would interest many as ‘Bullet’ would love to carry on her incredible run of form, while Andrade would love to show her skills against one of the best fighters ever.
