Paddy Pimblett‘s rise in the UFC has been nothing short of spectacular. The 28-year-old came in guns blazing and had probably one of the most entertaining starts to a UFC career in recent times. Unfortunately, all the hype surrounding him appears to have taken a halt, at least for a little while, or so it seems.

While his popularity took a massive hit following his infamous interview with Dana White, it was Pimblett’s fight against Jared Gordon that hit the final nail in the coffin. Despite getting his hands raised, fans were extremely discontent with the judge’s controversial decision. The Englishman has now in a fresh video on his YouTube channel, revealed that he had suffered an ankle injury during the fight, which prevented him from giving his best. While making that announcement, Pimblett also took the opportunity to lash out at Gordon demanding a rematch which drew reactions from a few other UFC fighters as well.

Expressing his desire to face Jared Gordon again this year, the 28-year-old stated that he’d like to see Gordon beat his next opponent just so that they could face each other again.

“I want to punch his head in toward the end of the year. I’m going to run it back. I hope he beats Bobby Green, because I’ll snap his arm for him in a round.”

But it was his next statement that appeared to have riled up fans and fighters. In a show of confidence, Pimblett went on a rant, pointing out how Gordon couldn’t beat him even when he was nursing an injury.

“Had a boxing match with him and I still won, because you’re sh*t. I hope he watched this. You’re f***ng dog sh*t. At my worst, you couldn’t beat me at your best. Injured, everything going wrong, and you couldn’t beat me on my worst day, and I beat you on your best because you’re a little bum,” he expressed.

Following this call-out, which pretty much went viral on social media, a few UFC fighters came out wondering what prompted the Lightweight to make this statement.

Bantamweight champ Aljamain Sterling, Lightweight Renato Moicano, and even Bobby Green left comments on one such social media post.

“I’m not understanding this energy. What did Jared say to deserve this, but I’m here for the rematch,” wrote Sterling.

Moicano, on the other hand, didn’t seem too impressed by the Englishman’s antics. “This man is a clown.” He wrote.

Bobby Green too took the chance to bash Pimblett. “I’m going to beat both of there a*s.”

The majority of the fans shared a similar sentiment regarding the 28-year-old’s statement.

“Can’t wait for this clown to get slept”.

“Paddy went from loveable to so easily hated bc of 1 fight. Not a humble bone in his body is gonna be his downfall.”

“Jared been respectful and this guy is insulting him for hype, it’s right to chase hype but that’s too much.

“there’s no way anyone likes him at this point.”

“Jared living in a 7000 sq ft mansion in paddy’s head rent free. Beach front property.”

“Paddy still doesn’t realize he lost that fight? Weak.”

All this went down after the Englishman uploaded a video on his YouTube channel. Titled ‘Paddy goes under the knife after UFC 282 injury!‘ He described how he suffered an ankle injury right in the first round of his fight at UFC 282 against Gordon. While doing so, ‘The Baddy’ also laughed off the doctor’s suggestion that he should have quit the fight after the injury itself.

Although there’s no official timeline for a return, Pimblett’s desire to fight at the end of the year hints that he won’t be out for too long after all.
