UFC is the premier MMA promotion in the world. It is the biggest and attracts the most number of eyeballs. Some of the biggest and most famous fighters in the world fight or have fought in the UFC. With that number of viewers tuning in, the promotion has a standard to live up to, which it usually does. However, one thing that has given it a bad name sometimes is the scoring done by the judges.

Many times, when a fight goes to the judges’ scorecard, the decision has surprised not just the fans but the whole MMA community. Sometimes the viewers know which way the fight went, but somehow the judges see it differently. UFC judges have come under criticism several times for shockingly poor decisions.

Joe Rogan and Marlon Vera on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience had a discussion over the same. Vera talked about his decision to not shake Song Yadong’s hand after their fight. He, along with most of the MMA community thought Vera won that fight, but judges gave the win to Yadong.

Joe Rogan added to it and said, “That’s a rough one man. Those bad decisions are f**king criminal. It’s a real problem. I think that’s another thing UFC should employ is more judges. It is not just the judges s**k, the judges s**k sometimes, some of the judges. Really, it’s like when you go to local places. You go to small, regional places that don’t have a lot of experience.”

Marlon Vera added to it and said, “I do the commentary in Spanish, and most of the fights I know who won the fight. And when they go 30-27, I’m like bro.”
