“Those Stats Are Garbage”- Conor McGregor Questions Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Career Achievements List

Conor McGregor took to Twitter and chimed in on a statistical post put forth by MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn. ‘The Notorious’ wasn’t too pleased with the contents of the stats piece, to say the least. Chiefly, Bohn’s post was a deep dive into the accomplishments of Conor’s greatest rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

‘The Eagle’ recently retired from the sport after defending his belt for the third time against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. Nurmagomedov dominated the bout from pillar to post and choked out Gaethje in the second round. Following his retirement in the octagon, the entire MMA community has been engaged in social media debates as to Khabib’s status in the sport.

Leaving with a 29-0 record, he’s arguably one of the best to ever do it in the sport’s history.

Mike Bohn was quick to respond to the Irishman by offering him a post that reflected Conor’s accomplishments in the octagon. There is no doubt that Conor has built his own unique legacy through his meteoric rise in the UFC. Moreover, he is already considered lightweight royalty despite never actually defending his belt.

Conor McGregor: Chasing undisputed gold

‘The Notorious’, who is all but out of retirement, once again has primed his way into picking up Khabib’s soon to be vacant belt. Prior to the events of UFC 254, Conor set into motion a rematch against Dustin Poirier for early 2021. Chiefly, it seems as though that would enable him to directly enter the title picture upon Khabib’s departure.

Dustin is on the verge of title contention and serves as the perfect match-up against McGregor for undisputed gold. What’s more, the UFC will look to set the aforementioned bout for a title, as it will pull massive numbers. There’s no doubt that with Conor at the helm of the lightweight division, the business will be booming.

However, there are dangerous contenders such as Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler, and Charles Oliveira, who are suitable options. Additionally, the pool of talent at 155-pounds runs well past the top 15.  The lightweight division is still one of the most sought after weight classes, despite Khabib’s unfortunate departure.
