Metallica’s Robert Trujillo spoke to Mike Bohn from MMA Junkie and went over several things in and out of the fight game. Primarily, Trujillo came in to talk about Metallica’s performance stint for Triller’s Triad Combat event. However, he also extended himself to open up about his love for the fight game and even named the fighter that excites him the most.

Robert Trujillo named ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas as the fighter who excited him the most every time she stepped into the cage. He talked about how her passion for her craft shone through and the fact that she comes in as the underdog makes him root for her. Not to mention, Namajunas has delivered some jaw-dropping performances on numerous occasions.

‘Thug Rose. She just to me represents passion, will, you know. Every once in a while, somebody; whether it’s a musician, or an athlete or a writer or an actor, director whatever; but she is to me somebody I really look up to.   She just works so hard at her craft and she’s always the underdog, you know.”

“I come from a place where I root for the underdog. A lot of times my favorite sports team’s are actually the teams that are more on the underdog side and that’s one of the great things about the fight game is you can choose the underdog.”

What’s next for Rose Namajunas after UFC 268?

‘Thug’ Rose recorded a victory over Zhang Weili in their highly anticipated rematch that took place inside MSG. Namajunas has put that rivalry in the rear-view mirror for now and will focus on facing grappling specialist Carla Esparza.

‘The Cookie Monster’ has carved out quite a nice run for herself and is currently on a five-fight wins streak. She defeated ‘Thug’ Rose back in the finale of TUF  20 in 2014, but the challenge Namajunas poses now is much greater. Both women have verbally agreed to face each other next, and it will be a fight to remember.
