“Time to Get Back What’s Mine”- Robert Whittaker Sends a Message to Israel Adesanya Ahead of Their Rematch

UFC was secretly in the works of a massive event. The MMA promotion company announced this Sunday that Robert Whittaker vs Israel Adesanya is going to take place. The fight will take place on February 12, 2022, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Consequently, this is their second matchup. They have already had a run-in with each other, back in 2019. Currently, Adesanya holds the UFC Middleweight Champion belt. He got this title after defeating Whittaker in their previous bout.

Since then, both the fighters have shown their growth in the octagon. While Izzy defended his title three times against Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, and Marvin Vettori, Robert has defeated three fighters back to back.

After this amazing performance, the 30-year-old Australian is looking to redeem himself. Additionally, He shared a message for Israel on Twitter. Bobby Knuckles stated, Time to get back what’s mine #AndNew @ufc @UFC_AUSNZ “above the official fight poster.

What went down during Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya’s previous fight?

Israel took on Whittaker in one of the biggest fights in his career at UFC 243. The fight took place for the middleweight title at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia. Both the fighters exploded in the very first round, however, Israel maintained his calm and almost earned a knockout before the first round stopped.

Going into the second round, Adesanya demonstrated why he is the UFC’s next big name. The 32-year-old fighter landed a counter left hook on Whittaker’s chin, knocking him down. Izzy quickly finished the game with some hammer punches.

Robert has amassed a total of 23 wins and 5 losses in his entire pro-MMA career. Since his last bout against Israel, he has defeated Darren Till, Jared Cannonier, Kelvin Gastelum. These victories have again proved that he is one of the best in the middleweight division.

One fighter’s winning streak will come to an end in this rematch.
