David Onama beat Gabriel Santos via knockout in the second round at UFC Jacksonville. The featherweight stars locked horns in the second bout on the main card as they looked to make a name for themselves in the promotion.

Onama came to Jacksonville with a  2-2 UFC record. ‘Silent Assassin’ was struggling to find a consistent run of form since joining the promotion in 2021. As for his opponent Santos, the Brazilian fell to 0-2 in the UFC after losing his second straight fight.

Although the fight was between two unranked stars, it was by no means a dull affair.

Both Onama and Santos went after each other from the opening bell at UFC Jacksonville. The first round was a competitive back-and-forth round where ‘Mosquitinho’ almost locked the ‘Silent Assasin’ in an armbar.

In the second, Onama took control. His moment finally came as he stunned Santos during an exchange. A thunderous uppercut then sent the Brazilian to the canvas, unconscious.

After the fight, Onama paid tribute to Israel Adesanya by doing the same celebration he did against Alex Pereira at UFC 287.
