Tom Aspinall is one of the brightest prospects in UFC’s heavyweight division. The British fighter has come out of the blocks strong and many see him as the next big thing in the division.

Aspinall made his MMA debut in 2014 and made an impressive start. He won his first three fights but went down 1-2 in his next fights. However, he bounced back in the best possible. He has won his last seven fights with four wins coming in the UFC. Now he is preparing for his next challenge. Aspinall will enter the octagon for the fifth time at UFC London, and take on the always game, Alexander Volkov.

To prepare for his next battle, Aspinall has found a surprising training partner. In recent photos, UFC middleweight Darren Till can be seen helping his fellow British fighter.

The two even devised a plan to prepare for his 6′ 7″ opponent. They named the top of a punching bag Volkov’s chin to get a better understanding of the distance. ‘Drago‘ is going to be the biggest fight of Aspinall’s career. He is a former Bellator heavyweight champion and is ranked 5 in the division. The Russian is as tough as they come and will make his opponent work.

Tom Aspinall doesn’t care about the title shot right now

Aspinall is on a great run in his career. Many dub him the future of the heavyweight division. However, he doesn’t like to think that far ahead.

The British fighter is 4-0 in his UFC career and is taking on a top fighter in Volkov next. A win against him will put him in the title picture, but he isn’t concerned. In an interview, he said, “To be honest, I couldn’t care less about a title shot at this point. I’m not thinking about that at all.”

“In every interview, I’ve ever done basically, I’ve said that I want to take it slow and all the rest of it because when you’re fighting guys with Volkov’s experience, you need to have some decent experience yourself.”

Volkov is a much more experienced fighter as compared to Aspinall. He’s had 43 professional MMA fights and Aspinall 13. However, it is sure to be an interesting fight as both of them like to use their power. Both have won a lot of fights via T/KO, and fans are in for a treat. They will headline UFC London on March 19, 2022.
