Aspinall said, “Basically at the minute I said we spoke about it(Jon Jones fight) a bit like obviously away from the media personally. And at one point I was like I should be fighting for the undisputed title next and I’m not budging on that and now I just think actually I’m gonna make my own legacy, man. I’m not going to wait for like something that’s not happening forever like. Look just as an example. Look what’s going on with Michael Chandler at the moment. Do you know what I mean? He’s the guy waiting forever and I don’t wanna be like Michael Chandler. Just sat on the fence waiting for the train that’s never gonna come. “

Jon Jones is undoubtedly one of the best heavyweights in the world and a win against him would certainly put Aspinall on top. However, Aspinall has shifted his focus from ‘Bones’ and has found himself a new opponent. But whom does the 30-year-old want to face next?
Tom Aspinall wants to take on Curtis Blaydes after UFC 299 callout
Curtis Blaydes took on Jailton Almeida at UFC 299 and won the fight via knockout in the second round. Blaydes, after his dominating performance, showed his willingness to fight Tom Aspinall and said, “I believe me and Aspinall have got some unfinished business. “I’d like to get that one next. . . That’s my next fight, Aspinall.” The pair previously met at UFC Fight Night in July 2022 and ‘Honey badger’ got knocked out in the first round within fifteen seconds. Since then a lot has changed and Aspinall currently holds the interim title in the heavyweight division. While speaking to Bisping, the 30-year-old Brit also showed his willingness to fight ‘Razor’ next.

He said, “I have nothing bad to say about Curtis Blaydes personally. Professionally, I want to whoop him.” The champion further added, “I want to whoop him, simple as that. I owe him one and I would love to get it back so (if) the UFC want to do it I am more than up for doing it.” With the pair willing to fight each other and the Jones fight not on the cards, it seems Aspinall might just get the opportunity to avenge his previous loss.
