Dana White has seemingly got yet another response for the awkward UFC Manchester timings. With the main card set at 3:00 am BST and the main event at 5:00 am BST, concerns regarding the fighters’ health and the fans’ discomfort began flowing throughout the world of mixed martial arts.
Set to defend his interim heavyweight title, Tom Aspinall has once again taken the help of social media to show his displeasure at the UFC 304 timing. After sharing a quirky post to seemingly taunt the UFC, another video, shared by an IG account named champs.rds, has gone viral where he rants about the issue.
“As a fan, who wants to watch it live, I think it is absolutely terrible. I think, yeah, it’s just not fair on the fans, not fair on the UK fans, obviously. The predominantly it’s an American audience. So, I understand that they wanna sell to them. But why can’t they sell to them in the afternoon? The start times are unfair. Why can’t Americans watch in the afternoon, which is our evening time? Why can’t the Americans watch it in the afternoon? And the UK fans, the Manchester fans, the European fans can all fly to the event, sell out this new arena,“ said Aspinall.

The Brit claimed that as a fighter, he would simply have to get used to the timing by beginning the training around the said hours. However, the concern for the fans enveloped Aspinall’s words. He revealed that the fanbase was lucky to have an event in Manchester. Therefore, he proposed to change the timings for the convenience of the fans. Here’s what they had to say!

Does Tom Aspinall have the fans’ support? Or do they side with Dana White?
As soon as the interim UFC heavyweight champion released the video on Instagram, the fans flooded their opinion in the comments section. Although the fight fans validated the words of ‘Honey Badger’, they deemed the fight being held at US timings was more important, owing to the Americans being the largest consumers of the combat sport. “I can see his point of view and it’s super valid but unfortunately We are the biggest consumers”, wrote a fan. A few others explained that Dana White made such a decision because of the population concentration within the US. One of them wrote, “Cause California alone is bigger than England”
Few others stood in support of the afternoon show, saying, “I would love a afternoon fight”, “ LOVE AFTERNOON SHOWS!!!!”, and “I would love it in the afternoon.”

Nevertheless, some also stood beside the fighter. A fan from the USA wrote, “As an american i fully agree lol.” Additionally, one fight fan commented that it was indeed unfair to the fighters residing in the UK. “The fans are up all weekend off barnets anyway it’s unfair to the UK fighters.”
Without a doubt, the Manchester arena would sell out and the fans would cheer for their favorite fighters, regardless of the timing. What do you think? Is the timing for UFC 304 justified? Or would you prefer the event in the local time? Let us know in the comments down below.
