Tony Ferguson Calls Conor McGregor an ‘International Terrorist’- Not Happy With Dustin Poirier

Former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson took to social media and fired heavy artillery towards Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor. ‘El Cucuy’ went after his 155-pound counterparts after the two have extended their talks for a possible match-up against each other. Not long ago, Tony Ferguson was in the driver’s seat to secure a massive main event fight.

Following some discourse with the UFC brass, both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier turned to each other to fight. Not to mention, ‘The Notorious’ offered a sizable donation towards Poirier’s foundation for actualizing the bout. What’s more, it appears the organization could target the bout to take place for the upcoming pay-per-view events.

Tony Ferguson goes off

Ferguson wasn’t pleased with the fact that Dustin had moved on from a fight that was set to go down between them. He quickly voiced his distaste for the situation on Twitter and slammed both lightweight contenders. Tony Ferguson was keen to get back into the octagon and re-enter the win column, but he seems set for a spell on the sidelines.

‘El Cucuy’ last fought back at UFC 249 against Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight strap. The bout saw Ferguson get the wind out of his sails and ‘The Highlight’ all but finished Ferguson on the feet. The defeat marked the end of Tony’s illustrious 12-fight unbeaten run that saw him tear through the division.

He came in as the boogeyman and had scalped impressive finishes over top divisional contenders. Also, his UFC 249 bout was supposed to be against Khabib Nurmagomedov for championship gold before it was canceled due to travel restrictions. This was the fifth time the UFC had to scrap a bout between the duo.

It appears Ferguson is once again out in the cold due to the landscape of the division. McGregor’s presence has often caused major complications for Tony in terms of securing fights. Should the fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor materialize, Tony won’t have an appropriate dance partner. Hence, fans can comprehend his frustration.
