The 4-fight losing skid doesn’t really reflect the grueling wars and tough match-ups Ferguson has faced. The downward decline might leave an everlasting impact, but Ferguson isn’t done with 155 lbs division just yet.

What’s next for Tony Ferguson after UFC 274?

The past 4 losses have all come at the hands of top-tier competition in Gaethje, Beneil Dariush, Charles Oliveira, and Chandler. Either of these men can go on to become world champions, aside from Oliveira, who is already ruling the division. The 155lbs title is vacant at the moment and Ferguson still needs a dance partner.

All is not over for the boogeyman of the lightweight division, as El Cucuy can still pick up a fight with Conor McGregor. His ranking may have fallen down to the tail end of the top 10, but many marquee names are still available for the mixed martial artist.
