It would not be wrong to say that Tony Ferguson’s fans have missed seeing him in action. His last fight was against Beneil Dariush on the 15th of May, 2021. Unfortunately, Tony Ferguson has lost back-to-back fights against Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, and then Dariush. Thus, it was a bit of a rough patch for the fighter.

However, Dana White has confirmed that they have a fight booked for him. This news will surely excite Ferguson’s fans. ‘El -Cucuy’ will be seen in a blockbuster fight a few months down the line.

In a recent video, White was seen talking about Ferguson. He said, “I think, I think we have a fight for Tony Ferguson. I think we have him lined up with somebody.”

When asked whether it would be a fun fight, White replied positively. He said, “Yeah, I mean, they’re all fun. Look at tonight. … Even the cards that get doubted are usually the best cards, you know ever.”

While fans are already excited about seeing ‘El Cucuy’ in the ring, it seems that he might fight against one of Ali Abdelaziz’s clients from the lightweight division. The famous manager works with several fighters like Justin Gaethje, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, to name a few.

In a recent tweet, Abdelaziz wrote, “@TonyFergusonXT”.

While he did not provide any further context to it, MMA fans cannot stop speculating about who he will face next. Since viewers will see Ferguson fighting after a while, it surely ought to be a very interesting opponent.

Tony Ferguson: MMA career

Tony Ferguson started fighting professionally back in 2008 and has been with several promotions over the years. However, he signed up for ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ in 2011 and later on, joined the UFC.

While he experienced a loss against Michael Johnson, he came back stronger with a 12-fight winning streak. This streak was broken by Gaethje at UFC 249 and that’s where his rough patch began.

Ferguson might make a comeback with not just better skills but also a fresh perspective. It will be quite intriguing to see whether he has made any changes to his style.
