The entire UFC 279 fight card was built around Khamzat Chimaev vs. Nate Diaz’s main event. However, the Swede has managed to disappoint every fight fan as he missed weight by a huge margin.

Chimaev’s entry into the weigh-ins was being monitored by fans all around the world, as Nate Diaz had already weighed in at 171 pounds. ‘Borz’, who was late for the party, shocked the world by missing weight by a huge margin.

The Swede weighed in at 178.5 pounds, i.e. 7.5 lbs heavier than his opponent, Diaz.

As news broke out, UFC light heavyweight title contender Aleksandar Rakic suggested a rather interesting proposal.

‘Rocket’ said, “Here is how we will do it if the sh*t show continues Main event Nate – Tony Co Main Chimaev – Holland catchweight. Pay Leech and Rodriguez show+win+(+suit)”

Khamzat Chimaev has been given an hour to cut the extra 7.5 pounds. However, that might not be possible as dropping the final 7.5 pounds within 60 minutes will be a tough ask of anyone.

As news reached Twitter, other fighters were quick to take notice. One former opponent and many other rivals had some hilarious reactions to it.

Gilbert Burns, who fought Chimaev at UFC 273, taught his rival the real meaning of “real gangster.”

Middleweight contender Brunson berated Chimaev.

Former UFC fighter and Nate Diaz’s sparring partner, Jake Shields, had a conspiracy theory.

UFC’s Chase Hooper wants Poirier vs Diaz.

Conor McGregor’s former training partner, Dillon Danis, also had his say.

Not only Chimaev but multiple other fighters missed weight for UFC 279. Chris Barnett became the second heavyweight in UFC history to miss weight, as he stepped on the scale at 267.5 pounds.
