In the aftermath of this seemingly democratic move, Shields took to Twitter to share his thoughts. Shields agreed Twitter is better off with Musk around. However, he had a different view on free speech on Twitter.

The 5 time MMA world champion wrote, “Twitter is better off with Elon than without him but free speech should not rely on a Twitter poll.”

Prior to giving his verdict on the whole Twitter-Trump fiasco, Shields gave some updates on the situation as it unfolded.

Shields mentioned a Twitter glitch following Trump’s reinstatement

After Twitter allowed the former POTUS, Donald Trump, back on Twitter, Shields followed him. However, he faced some frustrating technical difficulties. He pointed out a glitch saying Twitter kept unfollowing him from Donald Trump’s account.

Shields also gave an update about how quickly Trump was gaining followers on Twitter following his reinstatement. According to Shields, the number of followers crossed a million in the very first hour.

Shields also had a cheeky comment for when Trump finally made his way back to Twitter. Shields wrote he was not a Trump supporter, but mentioned what he was looking forward to in case Trump got reinstated.
