The combat sports community has been expressing concern surrounding the return of Conor McGregor. The 34-year-old has been out of action since July 2021, when he fractured his leg at UFC 264. Sitting out for almost two years now, McGregor’s return was announced earlier this year, with the comeback beginning at TUF 31. With TUF 31 almost halfway through and no fight news on the horizon, McGregor is still having fun on social media, this time, by teasing new looks.

McGregor coached opposite Michael Chandler earlier this year on season 31 of The Ultimate Fighter. So far his prospective opponent has been dominant in his coaching role and is up 5-0 against the Irishman. While Chandler maintains hope that he will get his ‘red panty night,’ many others including pros, are skeptical about it. The former champion’s social media shenanigans do not impart confidence about the chances of a 2023 return. Further, fans have begun to lose their patience, sensing a lack of effort from McGregor.

Conor McGregor teases a new look in deleted tweet

It is safe to say that Conor McGregor has mastered the game of tweet and delete. ‘Mystic Mac’ is famous for tweeting outlandish claims and for going back and forth with his rivals. The Dubliner also cleans up after himself by deleting any controversial material from his timeline.

This time, he had a rather bizarre surprise for his fans as he teased a new look on Twitter. McGregor posted a short clip of himself, sporting a mustache with an almost clean-shaven face.

In the caption, he wrote, “Sergeant range, reporting for duty. My first day on the job. God bless America. Motherf***ers I have range. De Niro with De Niro.” He also added, “#BillionDollarMovies #RoadHouseComingSoon,” after the note.

Perhaps the former double champ was teasing his upcoming Hollywood debut, Road House. McGregor starred alongside veteran actor Jake Gyllenhaal in Amazon Studios’ remake of the cult classic.

Interestingly, McGregor also shared another video where he sported a handlebar mustache like that of WWE legend Hulk Hogan. The former two-weight champion does not fail to entertain fans with these stunts despite fight news seeming like a distant possibility at this point.

McGregor also reportedly missed the USADA deadline to be eligible to compete in 2023. However, his USADA status is unknown, which means there is a possibility he enrolled in time but just has not been tested yet. Do you think we will see him in the octagon this year? Let us know in the comments below.
