Former UFC women’s megastar Ronda Rousey once got slammed by fans for praising the former two-weight champion Conor McGregor after his UFC 264 controversial antics.
In 2021, at UFC 264, The Notorious suffered a gruesome leg injury during his trilogy with rival Dustin Poirier. While still on the mat with a broken leg, Joe Rogan interviewed McGregor.

During the interview, McGregor was shouting at the UFC officials, saying it was a doctor’s stoppage. Then he turned his attention towards Poirier and took a nasty jibe at his wife. The Irishman also issued death threats to his rival in the interview.
While many deemed McGregor’s comments too controversial, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Rousey was impressed by them. She took to her official Twitter account and praised the Irish star for his fight-selling abilities.
“I’m amazed that as soon as you hit the ground you were already promoting the next fight @TheNotoriousMMA – I def wouldn’t have had the mind to do that. The other fighters, @ufc, and media are lucky to have you,” Rousey wrote.
The Rowdy One and The Notorious are regarded as some of the greatest fighters in the UFC’s history. Also, Rousey shared a good relationship with the former UFC lightweight champion during her time in the promotion. Moreover, both have talked highly about each other in several of their interviews.
Hence, after acknowledging her tweet, the UFC pay-per-view star too responded to her with some good words. McGregor wrote this:
Thank you for the message Ronda!
I appreciate it greatly ❤️ https://t.co/850LvnJFPn— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) July 12, 2021
However, Rousey’s comments didn’t sit well with the UFC fans.
Fans slammed Ronda Rousey for praising Conor McGregor
As soon as Rowdy applauded Mystic Mac for his UFC 264 call-out, fans filled her comments section by expressing disgust for her post. As many didn’t like McGregor targeting Poirier’s family.
Promote? By talking about the guys wife and telling him he's going to kill him? Maybe think on it a bit longer.

There’s still time to delete this.
