However, their bout failed to live up to his promise and was largely uneventful. The most significant moment of the bout came after their fight had ended when Tyson Pedro announced his retirement from the sport.

The first round opened with a flurry of leg kicks. The second round didn’t see much action, as even the referee told the pair to get on with the action. Petrino heeded the advice and threw a series of potentially fight-ending high-kicks.
The third round saw Petrino change tactics and try to grapple with Pedro, and the two men spent the majority of the round grappling with each other, with Petrino in control. The fight was scored unanimously in Petrino’s favor, whose performance failed to impress fans.

Tyson Pedro retires. He gave us some good fights and was extremely talented but he has other aspirations in his life.
Wish him all the best on whatever he chooses to do next 🙏 #ufc

Tyson Pedro retiring in an empty Apex is a damn shame, but either way – hell of a fun career.
