Gilbert Burns recently talked to the MMA World prior to his fight with Neil Magny in the UFC 283 welterweight category. The fighter previously intended to fight the highest-ranked warriors available in the welterweight category. He repeatedly revealed his desire to fight Jorge Masvidal, as well. Burns could not get himself tied into a bout till Magny volunteered to fight him. Without a doubt, the experience was a tad bit frustrating for the ‘Durinho’.

No matter how frustrating staying stagnant was, the fighter had to share something that frustrated him even more. Burns shared the fact that Belal Muhammad rose higher than him in the welterweight rankings without even having to fight him. Furthermore, the welterweight contender expressed how displeased he was as his place was taken up by someone else.

Gilbert Burns wonders how Belal Muhammad crossed him in the rankings

Prior to his fight in UFC 283, Burns had a conversation with the journaslists during the press-conference. One of the journalists acknowledged the fact that the welterweight division could become frustrating at times and asked Burns if he felt the same. He further backed his question by saying that the names often never seem to move or fight each other.

‘Durinho’ was visibly moved. He answered, “You never move, and I got frustrated with that, too.” However, the fighter had something else in his mind that he wanted to clear out. He began questioning how Muhammad jumped him in the rankings. Burns wondered, “But, how the heck, Belal Muhammad beats Sean Brady, I have nothing to do with that. He passed me on the ranks like, I got it, okay, he got a couple wishes but he never beat me while he took my place.”

Burns seemed really upset with the updated rankings. He further said, “And he declined the fight when they offered him to fight, so we fight each other here. We all know, why no. Because he got my place. But, I think he’s still number 5, he would say yes. So, I don’t- That’s one thing that I don’t like it. He’s, he’s out of my control. But, that was a little frustrating, man. How the f**k this guy pass me on the ranks? Like, he never beat me. And he don’t wanna fight me. So, why?”

When the video clip found its way to Twitter, it caught the attention of Muhammad. He responded to Burns’ question. He revealed that he could overtake Burns because he had only one ranked fight, while Muhammad had four. Furthermore, he chided how Burns was simply running after ‘Gamebred’ for the past few months.
