Feuds between fighters are nothing new to the world of MMA. Right from the pre-bout feud between the noted UFC icons, Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov to the infamous beef between the UFC supremo Dana White and the coveted Tito Ortiz, the fans have witnessed scores of them. Apart from noteworthy in-cage performances, almost every era of MMA also contains several notable feuds.

Currently, a few UFC fighters are also beefing with their colleagues and other combat sports athletes. However, some fans might be startled to know about another brand-new altercation involving the fighters of the top two MMA promotions in the world.

It was the former UFC Light Heavyweight and current Bellator fighter, Corey Anderson’s words, that marked the beginning of this feud. His stingy remarks about the UFC lured a reply from the promotion’s light heavyweight king, Jamahal Hill. But Anderson refused to back out, which escalated the situation to both taking Twitter shots at each other.

Corey Anderson describing Vadim Nemkov as better than UFC fighters lit the fire

Being a Light heavyweight himself, Anderson mostly kept his words limited to the Light heavyweight division. In a recent interview, Anderson stated how the current Bellator Light Heavyweight champ, Vadim Nemkov could beat the current top UFC light heavyweight fighters. But Hill didn’t take Anderson’s words pretty well.

He decided to give him a reality check with a video on his own YouTube channel named ‘Champ Chat Podcast with Jamahal Hill’. ‘Sweet Dreams’ got puzzled and gave out his opinion on ‘Overtime’s’ words stating they were “completely insane”. He also countered them, stating, We have seen UFC fighters leave the UFC and be successful in Bellator. We are yet to see that from a Bellator fighter”.

Hill also pulled up the examples of former UFC fighter Ryan Bader and current UFC Lightweight Michael Chandler to prove Anderson wrong. He described how the former face of Bellator, Michael Chandler, had to face a number of tougher competitors after he joined the UFC. On the other hand, a fighter of the caliber of Ryan Bader, who had never made his place in any UFC title fights, became the two-division champion after joining Bellator.

Hill may receive the support of several MMA fans here. But, Bellator’s #1 ranked Light Heavyweight didn’t display any signs of backing down from the altercation.

Corey Anderson took the battle to Twitter with a response for Jamahal Hill

Anderson issued a response to ‘Sweet Dreams’ on his own Twitter account. It was evident from his words that he countered Hills’ statement of the UFC being more competitive.

Anderson’s words read, “Ol Sweet Booty@JamahalH in his feelings! Talk about MMA math… didn’t you get your arm snapped by Paul Craig? Sooo that’d make him the best.. I toasted the 44y/o guy you beat to win the belt on 2 weeks notice when he was ranked #3. Other than that who you beat? NOBODY!!”

It was apparent that Anderson raised a question about the UFC Light heavyweight champion’s class. He mentioned that Hill had got beaten by a much lower-ranked fighter, Paul Craig, previously. Further, Anderson pointed out that he had also beaten Glover Teixeira, whom Hill beat at the UFC 283 to claim his light heavyweight championship.

But Hill also snapped back at his former colleague with a tweet of his own, implying Anderson could never make it to the top of UFC. He further derided ‘Overtime’ since he left the UFC to join a smaller promotion. His tweet partially read, “You can’t cut it at the top and u struggling in the B league”.

The 32-year-old also ended his tweet with a rant saying he could beat Anderson. However, the war of words didn’t end there.

Corey Anderson and Jamahal Hill fired another round of Twitter shots

Anderson’s reply to Hill’s tweet probably intended that this feud might continue for quite a while. In his next Twitter shot, ‘Overtime’ attempted to deride Hill’s previous excuse for his loss due to an injured arm. He also questioned Hill’s prowess, although he was the UFC light heavyweight champion. A few lines from his tweet read, “You got your arm SNAPPED by a dude who hasn’t beaten a ranked guy yet”.

Anderson also bashed Hill for talking about him since he never mentioned any particular UFC fighter in his interview. But, ‘Sweet Dreams’ also came up with a befitting reply. His final tweet regarding this issue read, “The more you talk you show how slow u are!!! Paul beat Magomed and remember how u was riding his 🥜 and he could beat u!! You can’t mention the best without mentioning me becuz I am HIM!! U can’t fwu in the cage, verbally or in resume (only 3 years in)!! Just stop it!!!”.

It was apparent that the current UFC Light Heavyweight champ tried to shut off Anderson with his current championship pride. Hill had achieved what Anderson had once tried to bag. But, opted out of the race after failing. Hence, a lot of viewers might give ‘Sweet Dreams’ the bragging right here.
