UFC 255- Figueiredo vs Perez: Early Prelims: Predictions And Analysis

UFC 255 place takes place this Saturday. Deiveson Figueiredo and Alex Perez will headline the card fighting for the flyweight belt. The card will be co-headlined by Valentina Shevchenko as she aims to defend her belt for the fourth time. However, the whole card is extremely stacked with some really interesting fights with massive implications in their respective divisions.

We take a look at the early prelims on the card and offer our predictions and analysis for the same.

UFC 255: Early Prelims

Louis Cosce vs Sasha Palatnikov 

The early prelim card gets underway with a welterweight bout between Louis Cosce and Sasha Palatnikov. ‘The Monster’ made his UFC debut on Dana White’s Contender Series this August with a TKO victory over Victor Reyna. Palatnikov on the other hand, will be making his debut at UFC 255 against ‘The Monster’

Cosce is on a seven-fight win streak. He has secured 71% of his wins via T/KO, he will be looking to extend his hundred percent finishing rate in the UFC as he takes on a newcomer. Palatnikov however, is 2-1 in his last 3 fights. He has secured 60% of his wins via decision. Based on recent form and experience, ‘The Monster’ should be able to extend his winning streak to 8-0 and secure his second victory in the UFC. 

Prediction: Louis Cosce via T/KO 

Kyle Daukaus vs Dustin Stoltzfus

Kyle Daukaus vs Dustin Stoltzfus at middleweight is next on the card. Daukaus made his UFC debut in June and succumbed to a unanimous decision loss against Brendan Allen. Stoltzfus on the other hand made his UFC debut in August on Dana White’s Contender Series. He secured a TKO win against Joseph Pyfer in round one and is currently riding a ten fight win streak. 

Daukaus has secured a staggering 89% of his wins via submission and will be extremely dangerous on the ground. Dustin on the other hand is split in wins via submission and decision with five apiece. Based on recent form and experience, Stoltzfus should be able to secure his second victory in the promotion over Daukaus 

Prediction: Dustin Stoltzfus via decision

Alan Jouban vs Jared Gooden

Alan Jouban takes on Jared Gooden as they round out the early prelim card at welterweight. ‘Brahma’ has been in the UFC for six years now. He is 1-2 in his last three fights at welterweight. In Jared Gooden, he will be taking on a man who is making his UFC debut. ‘Nite Train’ is on a three-fight win streak.

Jouban has secured 69% of his wins via T/KO. Jared on the other hand has secured 41% of his victories via T/KO. However, he is good on the ground as well and has secured six wins via submission. Given recent form, ‘Nite Train’ should be able to secure a win over a veteran in Jouban. 

Prediction: Jared Gooden via decision
