Mike Perry is never far away from controversy. ‘Platinum’ is set to fight Tim Means at UFC 255 this weekend. However, his fight weekend did not get off to the best possible start as he missed weight by 4.5 pounds.  This meant that he had to forfeit 30% of his purse to his opponent.

The American fighter made the headlines the last time he stepped into the octagon. After that, he decided that he did not want any coaches in his corner and would continue as he did against Mickey Gall.

Furthermore, Perry left no stone unturned for this fight and hinted at a possible fight against a rival down the road.

Platinum’ has a long-standing rivalry with Darren Till. After his last fight, Perry said that he wanted to go and train with Yoel Romero to see what 185 pounds felt like.

Helen Yee recently interviewed ‘Platinum’ and asked him about his experience in training with Romero. He replied, “Training with Yoel was great man. He taught me a few things and I respect his work ethic. You know sometimes I think people push too hard and if you respect the person you push yourself too hard. And you start doing damage to your body and things like that.”
